Privacy and data handling
I build AI tools for a living, so it would be a poor look to hide this behind ten pages of legal filler. Here is the whole thing, in plain language.
The short version. I do not sell your information, run ads, or track you across the web. There is no account to create and no mailing list. If you use the chat assistant or one of the AI tools, what you type goes to Anthropic so a reply can be generated, and that is it. Nothing on this site emails me anything unless you press send yourself.
What this site collects, and why
When you use the chat assistant
What you type is sent to my server, which adds the assistant's instructions and passes the conversation to Anthropic's API so a reply can be written. I do not run a database, so I do not store the conversation, and there is no record of it here once you close the tab.
Two limits keep the assistant from being abused: ten messages per browser per day, and a short burst limit by IP address. The daily count lives in a small cookie described below. The burst limit holds your IP address in the server's memory for about a minute and then it is gone.
If you ask the assistant to put you in touch with me, it will collect your name, your email address, and what you need, then show you a button that opens your own email app with the message already written. The message is only in your browser and your email app. It reaches me when you press send, and not before.
When you use the readiness quiz or the prompt scorer
Both tools send what you enter to Anthropic through my server so the analysis can be generated, and both send the result straight back to your screen. Your quiz answers and your prompts are not stored anywhere on my side.
At the end of the quiz there is a button that opens your email app with your score and your answers written out, plus space for your name and contact details. Same rule as the assistant: nothing leaves the page until you press send.
When you email me
If you write to jeff@the-ai-pm.com, I receive your message and keep it, the same way any business keeps its email. Whatever you choose to put in that email is what I have. I use it to reply to you and for nothing else.
When you just read a page
This site uses Vercel Web Analytics. It counts things like how many people opened the prompt scorer. It sets no cookies, does not follow you to other websites, and does not build a profile of you or identify you.
Hosting
The site runs on Vercel. Like every web host on earth, Vercel processes the technical details of each request, including your IP address and browser type, in order to deliver pages and block attacks.
Cookies
One cookie, and only if you use the chat assistant. It is called aipm_chat_quota, it holds a message count and a reset time and nothing else, it cannot be read by JavaScript, it is only sent back to the assistant endpoint, and it expires after 24 hours. Its whole job is to stop one browser running up an API bill. There are no advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies on this site.
Who else is involved
Three companies handle some of this on my behalf. I use them because the site could not work otherwise, and I do not send them anything beyond what is described above.
- Anthropic provides the AI models behind the assistant, the quiz analysis, and the prompt scorer, so what you type in those three places is sent there for a reply to be generated. Anthropic's privacy policy.
- Vercel hosts the site, runs the three API endpoints, and provides the cookieless analytics. Vercel's privacy policy.
- Fastmail runs the mailbox at jeff@the-ai-pm.com that receives anything you send me.
What I do not do
- I do not sell or rent your information to anybody, for any purpose.
- I do not run advertising pixels, retargeting, or cross site trackers.
- I do not use your chat messages, quiz answers, or prompts to train AI models.
- I do not ask for information I have no use for. There is no account, no signup wall, and no newsletter.
- I do not send you anything you did not ask for.
How long things are kept
Chat conversations, quiz answers, and prompts are not stored on my side at all, so there is nothing to keep. The chat cookie expires after 24 hours. The burst limit forgets your IP address after about a minute. Email you send me is kept as long as it is useful for answering you and running the business, and I will delete yours if you ask. What Anthropic and Vercel keep on their own systems is governed by their policies, linked above.
Your choices
Email jeff@the-ai-pm.com and ask. You can request a copy of anything I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. I will do it, and I will write back to confirm when it is done.
You are also never required to use the assistant or the tools. Email works just as well and collects less.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this page
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything material gets written out here rather than quietly edited in.
